This platform is called a wiki (the most well known is Wikipedia). It is designed to accept edits from anyone who would like to contribute. It belongs to us all. That said, it takes a little getting used to. Make sure to access the "Help" dropdown box near the top of the Edit page for a "cheat sheet" on how to make the editor do what you want. There is also a link to the left of this page that says "Help about MediaWiki". That leads you to a tutorial page to show you how to do just about anything on this site.
