"The Estill County FFA members attend National FFA Convention. Members are as follows: Back Row: Tyler Howell, Chris Neal, Gary Grace, Sarah Barnes, Emily Taulbee, and Jaylah Berryman. Middle Row: Rebekah Hoffman, Jaquee Cantrell, Adrian Rogers, and Courtney Culton. Front Row: Adam McKinney, Mariah Coleman, Aimee Powell, Jordan McCormick, Amanda Shuler, Christi Carnie, and Daniella Powell.

On November 1, the Estill County FFA Chapter had 17 members attend the 86th National FFA Convention in Louisville, KY. At the Convention, members were able to participate in many activities including the career show, demonstrations, and sessions led by the National FFA Officer team, including Kentucky’s own Joenell Futrell, National Eastern Region Vice President from Daviess County. The Career Show allowed members to explore many agriculture related career opportunities, see a diversity of agriculture-related businesses and educational opportunities, and participate in member activities and events. The members were also able to attend the evening session at which Daniella Powell was recognized as a National Proficiency finalist and then shared in the excitement as she was announced as the National Winner. Out of 49 proficiency categories, only six members from Kentucky were finalists; Daniella was the only Kentucky member to win a National Proficiency award." - From "Citizen Voice & Times," December 5, 2013.
