J. Levi Wheeler
"Born at Furnace, Estill County, Kentucky, January 9, 1833. Enlisted in the Army of the Confederate States at Winchester Kentucky in the Summer of 1862, and was elected a Lieutenant in Company C, 11th Kentucky Cavalry, Morgan's Command Army of Tennessee. He fought at Hartsville, Tenn., Elizabethtown, Ky., Muldraugh's Hill, Ky., Springfield, Ky., Monticello, Ky., Green River Bridge, Ky., Greasy Creek, Ky., Lebanon, Ky., The Ohio Raid and captured there and remained for 23 months a prisoner at Johnson's Island, Allegheny Penitentiary, Point Lookout, Old Capitol and Fort Delaware.
