"Teresa Dawes is the 2012 winner of the Bluegrass Alliance for Women’s Impact Award. She was presented the award at a luncheon Tuesday March 20 at the Clarion Hotel in Lexington. Teresa was one of 15 recipients of this award and the only recipient from Estill County. She was nominated for all the work she has done with the Girls Empowerment Program or GEM Program in Estill County. This program empowers fourth, fifth and sixth grade girls by promoting activities that build self-esteem, confidence and strong leadership skills. Teresa is the Director of Community Education for Estill County Schools."
